Highly sensitive children feel very deeply and are often misunderstood. I can help you to acquire the knowledge and skills you need to support your child.
Having worked as a psychologist with mothers and their children for over 10 years, I began to take a particular interest in highly sensitive children about seven years ago when I began to see many children referred to my clinics about being sensitive, shy and emotional.
Understanding a highly sensitive child, and having the knowledge and tools to deal with the different emotional ups and downs can have such a profound impact on both the parent and the child’s physical and emotional development for many years to come.
I know it’s hard raising a sensitive child who may struggle with one or more of the following:
Feels their emotions very intensely
Bursts into tears or loses their temper easily
Has intense meltdowns
Lacks self-esteem
Has difficulty sleeping
Sensitive to their environment
Has difficulties with friendships
Suffers from anxiety and worry
Struggles with transitions and change

Although our culture often treats sensitivity as a weakness, these children have enormous gifts to share.
I find that by coaching the parents of highly sensitive children, I can help the whole family to thrive.
I draw on my extensive experience to help you deepen your understanding of your own child, address specific problems and feel more confident as a parent.
LET’S WORK TOGETHER IN MY SIX-WEEK HSC COACHING PROGRAMME
I will work with you to identify problem areas and help you find the tools you need to reach your goals. We will go through the following steps:
1. Your unique parenting journey: We explore your experience in raising your child, reflecting on your own upbringing and the values you want to express as a parent.
2. Understanding your child: We dig deeper to find out what lies behind your child’s behaviours, how their sensitivity is affecting them, and gain some insights from neuroscience.
3. A deeper connection: How learning new ways to connect with your child and manage your own reactions can lead to a stronger relationship.
4. Build an emotional toolkit: I help you to devise a tailor-made toolkit to manage the intense anger, anxiety or meltdowns your highly sensitive child may be experiencing, and advise on sleep and routines.
5. Social skills: How you can support your highly sensitive child to navigate relationships, set boundaries, thrive in different environments and find their authentic voice.
6. Next steps: With the foundations now in place, we envision what you want for you and your child’s future and make a plan to get there.
